CHANOUSIA ALPINE BOTANICAL GARDENS
F - Path suitable for families
You can find the Chanousia Alpine Botanical Gardens—the highest in Europe—just over the hill at Piccolo San Bernardo. Founded in 1897 by Abbot Pierre Chanoux, rector of the Mauritian Order almshouse and dedicated scholar of history, archaeology and botany, these glorious gardens house a collection of endangered alpine species for you to admire. Thanks to public and private funding, the gardens have been expanded to cover a surface area of roughly 10,000 square meters, and conserve over 1,00 species of alpine plants from around the world.
Chanousia is accredited by the University of Turin as a work placement venue.
The botanical gardens are open to the public from July to September.
