Nouvelles Liaisons Transfrontalières dans l'Espace San Bernardo

Goals

This project aims to relaunch the development of tourism in the Piccolo San Bernardo area, building new links between Italy and France on foot, mountain biking and ski touring.
These links integrate European heritage and high mountain landscapes through digital tools, enhancing the natural and cultural context.These “Nouvelles liaisons transfrontalières” join the road that crosses the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass, open in the summertime only, and to the international ski area that connects the two countries during winter.

These new trails can also be used in spring and autumn, for the lovers of the outdoors. .


The Project

The project created:
- A cross-border trail for mountain bikes and e-bikes, with recharging stations
- A cross-border trail for hikers, from La Thuile to Séez, which is part of the long trails called “Chemin de Saint-Martin de Tours” (2.500 km through Europe)
- A historic trail on the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass, to discover heritage and landscapes
- A ski touring trail that links Italy and France during winter across the Belvedere Pass   

A digital application is available to download the GPS tracks ( www.espacesanbernardo.eu).
